Education and Certification
For the last decade, NARI's Certification Programs have been providing the remodeling
industry with a formalized standard of expertise, knowledge, and ethical conduct among
professional remodelers. The NARI Certification Programs offer a measure of skill and
expertise valued not only by other remodelers, but by consumers. Certification programs
identify remodelers who have undergone a detailed review and testing in areas such as
business management, ethical conduct, and technical skills.
To many professional remodelers, NARI Certification offers one of their most
valuable marketing tools. The certifications include: Certified Remodeler (CR),
Certified Lead Carpenter (CLC), Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodeler (CKBR),
Certified Remodeler Specialist (CRS), and Certified Remodeler Associate (CRA).
Seminars and round table discussions, offered at monthly dinner meetings and through
various other forums provide for further education and exchange of ideas. NARI also
maintains a strong commitment to training opportunities to build a skilled and qualified
work force.
Member Meetings
The chapter's monthly get-togethers provide a golden opportunity for members and
potential members to socialize and network with those aligned to the local remodeling
industry, discussing common problems and cultivating sales leads and solid business
contacts. A featured guest speaker or exciting program is always scheduled to insure an
educational, informative, and entertaining evening.
Consumer Awareness: Member Directory
NARI continually works to educate the consumer about the benefits of hiring a NARI
professional and, through our website, offers the public a listing of NARI members to contact.
Via both NARI National's web site, and the Eastern Massachusetts Chapter's own web presence,
consumers looking to find a contractor in their area can easily locate NARI members along with
an explanation of what sets apart NARI members from others in the field. These on-line
directories are easily updated as your business information changes.
Awards Program
NARI members are eligible to enter competitions, both locally and nationally, including
the prestigious "Contractor of the Year" Awards Program and NARI's Achievement Awards.
These offer valuable means to achieve recognition for excellence in remodeling.
Legislative and Regulatory Representation
The workings of government affect your livelihood! NARI monitors the activities of
legislative and regulatory agencies and works with other associations to actively pursue
the agenda of the industry.
Monthly Newsletter Bulletin and Complimentary Magazine Subscriptions
Keep current on what's happening in your industry, both on a local level and nationally.
Members receive the chapter's EM NARI News (10 times/yr), as well as the bi-monthly
Remodelers Journal, published by NARI national.
Community Involvement
EM NARI and its members stay active in the local communities where we do business.
A prime example is the chapter's wheelchair ramp program. On an ongoing basis,
the chapter selects a local resident in need of a wheelchair ramp and builds one,
supplies included, free of charge.
Business Products and Services Discounts
Through group rates negotiated by National, all NARI members have access to
substantial discounts and access to special rates on various services.
These include: office products, overnight courier service, rental cars, hotels,
credit collection, pre-employment and drug screening, profit-sharing and 401(k)
plans, and a NARI Gold MasterCard.
