EM NARI recently sponsored a collaboration with New England Design and Construction and Shawmut Construction to completely remodel a room for a child who suffers from a chronic medical condition through the Room to Dream Foundation. Many NARI members were able to contribute time, money, materials, and services to the project. In the end, we designed and built a peaceful and tranquil healing environment for a young boy out of what had been a living room. This will enable him to have a space on the first floor of the family home, which will facilitate his healing and growth.
This project was truly amazing for everyone involved. To bring such happiness to a child’s face is priceless, and to be so closely involved in facilitating such a project was truly food for the soul. Many thanks to all who were involved, including: New England Design & Construction, Allstate Glass, California Closets, Cosmos Painting, DDA Home Remodeling, Devoted Cleaning Services, AudioConcepts, Boston Plastering, CP Contracting, Custom Contracting, Mark-One, Optimus Painting, Puccio Electric, R&D Glass, Sterritt Lumber, Ugol Woodworks, VanMillwork, Verardi Flooring, XL Painting, and Yale Appliance and Lighting.
Jay Groccia from OnSite Studios was present for the whole project, cataloging everything that happened. He put together this amazing time-lapse video of the construction process:
