It is almost a year since I was sworn in as your President for 2014. I am amazed at how fast the year went by. This was a pivotal year for our chapter. We faced many challenges early in the year and I am glad to report that we are in fantastic shape. The committees, volunteers and staff did a great job all year. The effort behind the scenes is where most of the important work is done. We show up at the meetings and see the results of that work and say what a great meeting or event. Great events are put together by committed volunteers and I want to make sure their efforts do not go unnoticed. I commend and thank our committee chairs and their teams for making this an enjoyable and rewarding year. These members have the laid a strong foundation that insures EM NARI is poised to meet the needs of our remodeling and vendor members.
I would like to thank our vendor members who have stepped up to the plate donating their time and dollars to support our organization. We cannot grow and serve our members without you. I encourage all members to join us in February to support our vendor members at the Table Top meeting.
There is still time to join many members and enter your remodeling projects into our Contractor of the Year program. There are numerous benefits to entering and winning an award. I remember a few years back when our company entered the program and won an award. The project helped us secure projects from consumers and gave us great marketing opportunities to leverage. Our entire team; carpenters, office staff and sales team were excited to be recognized by our peers for a job well done. You too can experience this outcome by entering one or more of your projects from the past year into the program.
I am looking forward to passing the reigns to our in-coming President Jim Lavallee. I have watched and worked with Jim for several years to help our organization improve and grow. Jim is a great leader who builds effective teams and gets things done. Jim is a man of deeds whose actions and results speak for themselves. EM NARI is in great hands.
There is not much I can say that has not already been said. I have watched the performance of Michelle Glassburn throughout the last 18 months. The commitment, passion, ability, talent and professionalism are top shelf. Thank you Michelle for making my job go so well in 2014.
In closing, I am honored to have had the opportunity to serve you as President of EM NARI for 2014. Please join me on January 7th 2015 at the Agganis Arena holiday meeting as we swear in our new leadership and board.
Mark Paskell, EM NARI President
